The three-leaf clover has always been a symbol of trinity. In the pre-Christian Celtic druids, the clover was considered a sacred symbol and magic plant. In Christian symbolism, the cloverleaf was adopted early as a sign of the Trinity and is often found in pictorial representations. Trinity stands for birth, life and death and thus forms the eternal cycle.
