The beautiful shell pendant was made from high quality 925 sterling silver. Since the shape of the shell resembles that of the female sex, it is considered a symbol of female sexuality, eroticism and fertility. Earlier, matriarchal cultures saw mussels in their similarity to the yoni as the highest, sacred symbol for the universally feminine. Their spiritual value was occasionally transferred to the material, so they were used as currency in Asia and Africa, and are still used by some ethnic groups (e.g. in Brazil) for oracles and religious purposes. Kaurim. were used for fertility magic, they were considered healing and regenerating. The medieval bestiary mentions that "according to the divine command, nature has secured the softness of the flesh with firm walls so that it is hidden inside the shells like in a lap".
