The Latin cross, the shape resembles the human figure with outstretched arms. The crossbar is shorter than the longitudinal bar; it crosses the longitudinal bar above the middle. This shape is the most common cross shape for us. Assuming that Jesus was struck on such a cross, it is also called a passion cross (passion = suffering). It also represents a connection between heaven and earth, spirit and matter, soul and body as well as the male and the female.
