The beautiful brooch is decorated with Celtic symbols and a cross. It was made of high quality bronze and exudes a very special power. The name Celts comes from the Greek "keltoi", which Herodotus used for the first time around 450 BC, means something like "the brave", "the bold". The Celts were neither a homogeneous people, nor an original European community. Rather, the Celts were distributed among many different tribes and tribal associations that had some cultural similarities. Many tribes lived in France, which Caesar summarized as Gauls. The Celts were not only clever businessmen, but also skilled craftsmen. They showed their skills as potters and weavers as well as in glass production and leather processing. They are already using the first machines, such as lathes, four- or two-wheeled carriages and turning mills. The decorations that many archaeological finds show today show the artistic sense of the Celts.
