He was born in Bonn, Germany and died in Wien, Austria where he became one of the most important representatives of the viennese classicism.
His most remembered compositions like „Für Elise“, „Die Mondscheinsonate“, „Missa Solemnis“, „the 5th symphony“ and „Freude schöner Götterfunken“.
