In heraldry, the heraldic lily is a common figure, consisting of three stylized leaves that are held together by a ribbon. The middle leaf is pointed at the top and bottom, the outer leaves hang down and are bent outwards. The sign is a stylized bearded iris (Iris), which is botanically only distantly related to the lily (Lilium).
