Vegvisir Pendant with Broad Rune Frame

Motif, Meaning and Background
The Vegvisir belongs to Icelandic symbol traditions and is recorded in the Huld manuscript of 1860. Its theme is finding the way, even in difficult conditions. The familiar name Viking compass is misleading historically, as the documented symbol comes from a much later period.
