Woman before Mirror with Fixed Bail
A female figure stands before an oval mirror with a curved frame. The fixed bail joins directly to the motif and continues its elongated shape upwards.
Shape and use
Frame and figure work together like a miniature picture. A simple chain gives this scene the space it needs. Against plain fabric, the body outline and oval lines are particularly easy to distinguish. Choose a wearing height that keeps the whole scene visible and check the chain clasp against the suspension opening.
Motif and personal meaning
Figure and mirror can be read as an image of self-reflection and mortality. The title Mirror of Death or Memento Mori gives the miniature scene a reflective context. The memory or meaning you connect with it remains personal.
