Liam Thor's Hammer with Interlace
A short shaft and broad hammer head carry interlaced knotwork. The dark background brings out the bright lines and small face on the hammer head.
Shape and styling
The motifs hang below ear wires and move as you wear them. Bright silver surfaces and darker outlines change their effect with the viewing angle. Understated necklaces let the ornament stand out, while a matching knotwork or symbolic pendant carries the theme through a set. The ear wires are intended for pierced earlobes.
Motif and meaning
Mjölnir is the hammer of Thor in Norse mythology. Hammer-shaped amulets are known from the Viking Age and were associated with protection, among other meanings. As a present-day jewellery motif, the shape can personally suggest courage, determination or an interest in Norse stories. The decorative treatment gives this small hammer its own expression.
