Description

Liam Thor's Hammer with Knot Relief

The compact hammer shape carries bright raised knotwork over a dark background. A small face motif sits at the transition to the broad hammer head.

Shape and styling

The motifs sit directly against the earlobe as stud earrings. Their outline stays close to the ear and combines with other small silver accessories. A matching pendant can echo the motif, while a simple chain keeps the focus on the earrings. The posts are intended for pierced earlobes.

Motif and meaning

Mjölnir is the hammer of Thor in Norse mythology. Hammer-shaped amulets are known from the Viking Age and were associated with protection, among other meanings. As a present-day jewellery motif, the shape can personally suggest courage, determination or an interest in Norse stories. The decorative treatment gives this small hammer its own expression.
